Coming off their first loss of the season, the Reinhardt Eagles prepare to break the Union Bulldogs undefeated record at 4:15 this Wednesday in Waleska, Georgia.
The Eagles of Reinhardt University are currently 7-1 overall, and 4-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. Reinhardt University lost its first game October 4th to Tennessee Wesleyan. The game was well fought between both teams, however the Bulldogs of TWC came out on top when they took over with minutes remaining and scored the game’s only point, leaving the game at 1-0. RU head coach Joey Johnson remains positive and is doing nothing less than preparing the team for the upcoming game against Union. After the loss he was quoted saying “although the match was a disappointment for our players today, it is an opportunity to learn and become a better team as we move forward with our season.” The RU eagles are ranked 24th nationally.
Jordan Smith-Williams, Freshman from England
The Eagle’s upcoming opponent Union College is currently undefeated, ranked no. 16th nationally and is first in the AAC conference. Bulldog Alex Smith has received AAC player of the week the past two weeks consecutively and is a key player for UC that the Eagles will have to stop. Union College has pulled off its past three wins in overtime, winning by only one point. With one of UC’s overtime wins being against the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs, the Eagles are going to have to fight hard to break Union College’s undefeated record.
