The Mercer Bears continue to rout opponents after their 72-year hibernation! They woke up extremely hungry for the second weekend in a row. They won in double digits again. This is the second week in a row that the opposing team didn’t manage to score a single touchdown. The Bears had a very well rounded game last Saturday. Payton Usher rushed for 154 yards on twelve carries to lead Mercer to a 43-0 non-conference win over Berry. On defense, Mike Gray led the Mercer Bears with one interception and four tackles. The Bears defense also managed to sack all four of the Berry quarterbacks. The real question now is will Mercer be able to keep this up. We will find out this weekend as the Bears take on the Drake Bulldogs. Let’s go Bears!
