Saturday night the Mercer Bears hit the ground running on all four paws as they clinched a 40 to 37 point victory over the the Reinhardt Eagles. Although the game seemed even the bears finally managed to turn the tide of the game in the last quarter. The winning field goal was kicked by Josh Shutter from 31 yards during the final seconds of the game. This seems to be a very good start to the bears season after 72 years of hibernation. After the game many Mercer students proceeded downtown to celebrate the victory over Reinhardt. Hopefully this winning streak will continue and we will find out on September 14 as the Bears take on Warner.Lets go Bears!
