#7 Reinhardt Eagles 49 – Ave Maria 3
Reinhardt played an almost flawless game against Ave Maria, scoring 35 points in the first half, while holding Ave Maria to only a field goal for the game.

The Eagles running back committee was incredible Saturday, rushing for 382 yards, six touchdowns, and averaging 6.5 yards per carry. M’Calun Lanier (R-So.) led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns, earning him the Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division Offensive Player of the Week. Quarterback Billy Hall (So.) was 8-13 passing for 113 yards, while also having 7 carries for 82 yards and 1 rushing touchdown, giving him 195 total yards on the day. Brian Tillery (R-So.) led the receiving core with five catches for 92 yards. The offensive line only allowed a single sack to Ave Maria.
Chase Hawkins (Sr.) led the team in solo tackles and total tackles with four and seven respectively. Quincy Standifer (Sr.) had the most tackle assists with five on the day. J.T Grayson (R-So.) made his presence known by sacking Ave Maria’s QB twice. Omari Debose (So.) had Reinhardt’s lone turnover, an interception. RU’s defense also had 8 tackles for a loss and only allowed Ave Maria to convert twice on third down out of 14 tries.
Who’s Next
#7 Reinhardt will begin their conquest for Mid-South supremacy on Saturday, heading to the #13 University of the Cumberlands. The Patriots are currently undefeated, with key wins against #11 Southeastern (27-26) and #24 Faulkner (44-34). Some key players for the Patriots are Cameron Baxley (LB, Sr.), who was named Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division Defensive Player of the Week, racking up four solo tackles, 8 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, and a forced fumble, and Milton Shelton (RB, Jr.), who had 16 carries for 150 yards and a touchdown, in their 40-10 rout of Kentucky Christian. Kickoff will be on September 29, 2018 at 7:00 pm, at the James H Taylor II Stadium, Williamsburg, Kentucky.
