The Georgia College Women’s Tennis team has recently been ranked No. 19 for their conference. The Bobcats have an overall 6-5 record so far this season but still have several matches ahead.
The Bobcats played in Pensacola, Florida this past weekend. On Satuday, the Bobcats lost to No. 21 Midwestern State. Player Kristen Jones, was the only one on this team to end with a win against the Mustangs. In the doubles matches, Polk and Serdinia were the only ones closest to pull out a win for the team but fell by only a few.
The Bobcats may have lost the match to the Mustangs but redeemed themselves with a win against No. 26 West Alabama. The Bobcats won 6-3.The Bobcats’ singles made up for their point deficit and led them to their sixth win this season. Doubles team Kelly and Niemi struggled against their opponents but ultimately came out on top. Kelly and Niemi were the only doubles team from Georgia College to be ranked in the ITA rankings for the Southeastern region for Division II.
The Bobcats are set to play No. 7 West Florida, Tuesday, March 21.
