19 high school athletes signed Wednesday and five JUCO signees were already enrolled at Georgia State.
Georgia State’s 2014 signing class is head coach Trent Miles’ second FBS recruiting class.
The 24-player class was rated sixth by 247 sports, ahead of South Alabama, Troy and Louisiana-Monroe – three teams that defeated Georgia State last season.
Georgia State signed 24 players – thirteen on offense and eleven on defense
- two quarterbacks
- five offensive linemen
- three wide receivers
- one running back
- one fullback
- one tight end
- four linebackers
- seven defensive backs
“When you’re in the process of building a program, every position is vital,” said head coach Trent Miles (via Georgia State Athletics). “Because of graduating 27 seniors and making the jump from FCS to FBS, we can’t fill all of our holes in this recruiting class this year or even next year. But we are getting closer and closer and every position is really key for us.”
The biggest get for the Panthers on signing day was pro-style quarterback Nick Arbuckle of Woodland Hills, CA. The 6-2 225 pound quarterback picked Georgia State over UMass, UNLV and New Mexico State, according to 247 sports.
