Kennesaw State and Alabama State have agreed to a four-game series beginning at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in 2017, it was announced on Monday (Aug. 31). The series will run through 2020 with each team hosting two games.
The Hornets and Owls will meet for the first time on Sept. 16, 2017 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium before switching venues to The New ASU Stadium on Sept. 15, 2018. The remaining two games will be played Sept. 14, 2019 in Kennesaw before wrapping up the current agreement on Sept. 19, 2020 in Montgomery, Ala.
Alabama State is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and plays at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level. The Hornets are coming off a 7-5 record in 2014.
Kennesaw State is just three days away from making history when it plays its inaugural game at East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn. on Thursday (Sept. 3). The game begins at 7:30 p.m. and can be heard live at KSUOwls.com. A live video stream is also available on the SoCon Digital Network.
Kennesaw State makes its home debut on Saturday, Sept. 12 when it hosts Edward Waters at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. and the game is sold out. Fans unable to attend can watch live on Atlanta’s CW69 (WUPA-TV).
