The Kennesaw State football team moved another day closer to kickoff after completing Day 1 of the second week of Training Camp at The Perch. The Owls are working towards their opening game versus East Tennessee State at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sept. 3, which will mark KSU’s first-ever night game with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The Owls went through a demanding 24-period practice that lasted two hours in full pads. The practice held a lot of unit work, full 11-on-11 contact and goal line work at the end of the day.
Redshirt-sophomore Jake McKenzie highlighted period 23, lowering his shoulder and bursting through the defense for a 46-yard rush to electrify the offense in a fast-paced energetic final 10 minutes of practice with full 11-on-11 contact.
“I’m pleased with the beginning of week two. We came out with a different type of attitude this week and that’s always great to see,” head coach Brian Bohannon said. “Honestly, this camp is completely different than last year and everyone has an idea of what is going on and how to go about our business. We are looking for some depth at slot and there is some really good competition at corner and up front at defensive line. The thing about us is we are young, and the competition is really good.”
