The Kennesaw State men’s golf team wrapped up a solid two days of golf with a second place finish at the Wolflpack Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday (Oct. 4) at the par-71, 7,358-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
The Owls shot a final-round 1-over par 285 to finish the 54-hole event with a 12-under par 840 to place second behind East Carolina, which topped the 17-team field with a 15-under par 837. Kennesaw State recorded rounds of 278-277-285 and the 54-hole score of 840 ties for the second lowest par-71 54-hole total in program history.
Senior Christopher Guglielmo paced the Owls as he tied for second with a 5-under par total of 208, seven shots behind East Carolina’s Timothy Conover, who claimed individual medalist honors with a 12-under par 201.
Guglielmo was joined in the top 10 by freshman Connor Coffee and sophomore Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres, who tied for fifth and 10th, respectively. Coffee turned in the best finish of his young career after recording rounds of 72-67-72 for a 2-under par score of 211, while Torres produced rounds of 66-74-72 for a 1-under par 212.
Sophomore Jake Fendt (68-75-70 – 213, E) tied for 13th, while senior Teremoana Beaucousin (76-71-73 – 220, +7) tied for 41st.
Kennesaw State will have two weeks off before hosting the Pinetree Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club beginning Oct. 24.
