    Yellow Jackets Look to sting the Dominate Fighting Irish

    The Lady Yellow Jackets are off to a solid 10-3 start this season after a 60-50 victory over the Jaguars of Iuipi. Led by coach MaChelle Joseph the Lady Yellow Jackets found themselves in a close contest throughout the first three quarters, with only three players scoring more than seven points throughout the entire matchup.

    One of those highlight players was the 6-0 guard-/forward ,out of Memphis, Aaliyah Whiteside for Tech. Whiteside dominated offensively against the Lady Jaguars putting up 28 points. Whiteside shot a combined six for eleven from the field , and a nearly perfect six for seven from the free throw line, while also grabbing six rebounds and scoring an asssist. Senior forward.Roddrekka Williams posted a double double scoring 20 points along with 11 rebounds 3 steals and an assist. Meanwhile Sophomore forward Zaire O’Neil, payed huge dividends for Tech coming ofe bench matching Whiteside and Williams’ 6 points plus performance, scoring 7 points while also mustering three assists, two rebounds, one block, and a steal.

    Defensively the Lady Yellow Jackets were tenacious forcing 23 turnovers all the while holding the Lady Jagurs to 19-49 from the field. Iuipi also strugglef from behind the arch shooting 15%. The Lady Jaguars also could not capitalize from the foul line shooting 9-20. Georgia Tech shot 50% from the field for the game, 60% from the foul line, but were not able to get anything to fall beyond the three point line going 0-6 after two halfs. Top scorer for the Jaguars was Danielle Lawerence who put up 10
    points in a losing effort that dropped Iupui to a 8-4 record while the win has Tech sitting at 10-3 thus far on the season.

    Coach Joseph’s squad will have their hands full as they hit the road to face Coach Muffet McGraw and the (10-1) #3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish December 30th . The team is on a three game winning streak with  its only lost coming to historically powerhouse Connecticut on the 15th, in a ten point setback.
    Tip off is at 7:00pm at the Purcell Pavilion at Joyce Center at Notre Dame. This will definitely be a big early test for Georgia Tech.
