The Reinhardt Men’s soccer team fell to the Bruins of Bob Jones University 3-2 out of Greenville, SC. Jordan Williams, a sophomore defender for the Eagles scored both goals, but a late free kick by the Bruins in the 76th minute left Reinhardt with a tough loss. After the game, Head coach Joey Johnson stated, “Although we are disappointed with the result on the road this evening, it will serve as a reminder for us moving forward of the level of work rate and passion necessary to be successful at the collegiate level.” The Bruins defense rallied for the first score of the match within the 9th minute.

The Eagles would even the score at the beginning of the second half. The Eagles were able to play great offense inside of the box where junior forward Jose Rubio struck a pass to Williams for the score in the 54th minute. Two minutes after, the Bruins attacked the net for a 2-1 lead. Reinhardt was able to tie the game again in the 73rd minute. Junior defender Maximilian Schwoche found Williams on a long cross that would allow him to score. Unfortunately, the Bruins once again answered quickly with a 25-yard free kick soaring through the net for the final goal of the night.
Reinhardt will travel to Bluefield, WV on Saturday, September 25th to take on the Rams in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
