Since the last update, the Reinhardt Eagles Men’s soccer team have only played one game. On October 31, the Eagles took on the Knights of St. Andrews University in a match that was originally scheduled for October 3 in Laurinburg, NC that was postponed due to inclement weather in the area. In the October 31st match, Reinhardt defeated St. Andrews 3-2 in double overtime. Jordan Williams scored his second goal of the game in the 104th minute as Reinhardt closed out the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season. AAC Offensive Player of the Week, Matthew Gray also scored one goal in the contest. “It was a good collegiate soccer match today between two determined teams,” said RU head coach Joey Johnson. “First, I must compliment the staff and players from St. Andrews as not only did they play the game the way it should be played but also showed strong character and heart as they battled back to force extra time. I believe this match will benefit both teams as we enter the AAC tournament this weekend as it was played with a similar level of intensity, emotion and execution from both teams that will be on display in the postseason.” The Eagles will be back in action this Saturday, November 7 in AAC tournament play against Truett-McConnell College. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM EST at Ken White Field in Waleska, GA.
