Reinhardt Lacrosse Travels to Kentucky
The 1-1 Reinhardt Eagles will be making a trip to Kentucky this weekend to take on two very tough opponents at a neutral location. The Eagles will compete against Indiana Tech (ITU) and Lawrence Tech. The game against ITU should be exciting to watch, as the Eagles faced Indiana Tech in the semi final of the National Championship tournament in 2018. In last year’s game, the Eagles dug out of a 5 goal deficit to beat the 13-2 Warriors by 4 to move on to the National Championship game. Indiana Tech has lost their two most valuable players on the offensive side of the field, but they return their all- tournament team goalie. The Eagles have started to gain momentum after a season opening loss against The University of the Cumberlands. Most recently the Eagles defeated the #6 SCAD Bees 16-5. Reinhardt’s offense looked explosive in the 3rd quarter of play against SCAD, netting 7 goals. Head coach John Snow remarked, “We still have some undisciplined play taking place that needs to be sorted out for us to win another title this year, but my guys are determined and always work hard.”
The second game taking place this weekend will feature Reinhardt verses Lawrence Tech. In the 2018 game against LT Reinhardt University had a 15 goal lead and cruised to a win. Lawrence Tech graduated 5 seniors from last years team, but they have returned a strong sophomore class and should be more competitive in 2019.
