Reinhardt University battled to win this past Saturday, October 18, against Belhaven University with a final score of 35-24. Niagel Curtis and L.J. Stegall scored the first two touchdowns for the Eagles.  Reinhardt was trailing with just over 12 minutes to go in the game.  The score was 24-21 and the Eagles scored on a drive that pushed them into the lead, 28-24.  Jonathon Chamblee connected with Tyler Bradley to throw a 33- yard pass to secure the 4 point lead.

The defense for the RU Eagles would respond appropriately. On the fourth down, the Eagles forced an incomplete pass at the first down marker.  This would allow the Eagles to seal the game.  Although with about five minutes left, Bradley went for a deep pass, but was picked off by the Blazers.  The side referee threw a flag and called pass interference against Belhaven.  This allowed Curtis to plunge into the end zone from three yards away to take the score to 35-24.

Marcus Miller made a deep pass interception and this allowed the Eagles to run out the clock and accept their victory against the Blazers.

University of the Cumberlands Patriots suffered a tough defeat to Georgetown College Tigers on Saturday, October 18th the final score being 13-42.  From the start of the game the Tigers came to win, scoring twice in the first quarter holding the Patriots to zero. Georgetown continued to score fourteen points in every quarter except the fourth when the Patriots scored their second touchdown of the game ending the game with almost a 30 point difference.

A few players Reinhardt will need to watch out for are Blake Ingleton Patriots #25 running back, ran a kick return for 62 yards to score, with a total of 130 kick return yards in the game. Wendall Williams #10 wide receiver, had six completes with 55 yards. And Keith Deveaux #5 running back, had a total of 20 passing receiving yards. Reinhardt will need to come on strong this Saturday on both offense and defense to come out with a win over UC this weekend.
