Recap:
The Reinhardt Volleyball team had a historic win against Coastal Georgia winning in three sets. To start the series, the Eagles managed to win a hard-fought set against Coastal Georgia beating them 25-22. Coastal Georgia didn’t make it any easier for the Eagles, pushing them to a close 2nd set, however the eagles managed to pull away with a 25-23 victory. The Eagles were able to earn their ticket to Iowa for the national championship beating Coastal Georgia 25-16 in the third set. The leaders in kills for Reinhardt were Emily Charbonneau (10), Tessa Colden (10), Carlee Baxter (7). For Coastal Georgia, Alexis Downey (9), Addie Pedraza (6), Kyra White (5) led their team with kills.
Championship Play:
Reinhardt squared off against Dordt College on November 27th, in Sioux City, Iowa. Dordt College came in as one of the nation’s best with a 27-2 overall record and an amazing 16-0 perfect conference record. The Dordt Defenders would leave that game with a bruising win 3-0. The Eagles went down the wire in their next game beating The Master’s University 3-2. The scores of each set is as follow: 24-26(TMU), 21-25(TMU), 25-23(RU), 25-23(RU), 15-10(RU).
Preview:
Up next, Reinhardt will play Corban University. The game will be played on November 29th, in Sioux City, Iowa. Corban University will enter the contest with an overall record of 22-12 with eight of the twelve losses coming to ranked opponents. This is Reinhardt’s best season so far in school history with a record of 35-7. Reinhardt is 2-1 in championship play while Corban University is 1-1. Reinhardt will look to keep their championship hopes alive as a win over Corban University will advance Reinhardt to the final round of play.
Prediction:
Reinhardt will win in a close game 3-2.
