The SunBelt released its 2016 football schedule on Thursday and your Georgia State Panthers get the season kicked off with a home game in the Georgia Dome versus Ball State before heading on the road for 3 straight road games and closing the season on the road at Idaho.

HOME – Saturday Oct. 8th vs. Texas State
AWAY – Saturday Oct. 15th @ Troy
HOME – Saturday Oct. 22nd vs. UT Martin
AWAY – Saturday Oct. 29th @ South Alabama
HOME – Thursday Nov. 3rd or Friday Nov. 4th vs. Arkansas State
HOME – Saturday Nov. 12th vs. UL Monroe
HOME – Saturday Nov. 19th vs.Georgia Southern
OPEN – Saturday Nov. 26th
AWAY – Saturday Dec. 3rd @ Idaho
The Panthers will host Ball State, Texas State, UT Martin, Arkansas State, UL Monroe and in state rival Georgia Southern in the Dome. Georgia State faced 4 of these teams, all on the road, with a 3-1 record with the only loss coming to the RedWolves.
Like last season, the team will be collecting quite a good deal of airline miles with their road schedule. Including visits to Colorado Springs, Co. Madison, Wi, Boone, NC, Troy, Al. Mobile, Al., and Moscow, Idaho the team will have traveled approximately 11,000 miles round trip. 9300 of those miles accrued while taking on the Falcons, Badgers and Vandals.
Georgia State was 2-1 versus 2016 road teams including wins over Troy and South Alabama. Idaho and UL-Monroe replace New Mexico State and La-Lafayette for 2016. The SunBelt recently announced that membership to both Idaho and New Mexico State would not be renewed.
