What a couple of weeks for the Crimson Tide! Win after win Alabama football continues to show its dominance in the college football world. Three teams that were supposed to give Alabama a run for their money, the Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M Aggies, and LSU Tigers ended up failing miserably.
Tennessee had a 5-1 record before playing Alabama. Their only loss had been the previous week to Texas A&M, so they were ready to finally conquer Alabama. They had home field advantage and quarterback Josh Dobbs was on fire. Sadly for them, it ended up being another Alabama beat down in Neyland Stadium with Bama on top (49-10).
Next we have the Aggies, who were ready to destroy. Undefeated, they were fully prepared to take on #1 Alabama. The beginning of the game didn’t look very promising for either team but in the end Trevor Knight got his world rocked in another Bama victory (33-10).
Now let’s talk about the LSU Tigers. A night game in Death Valley is a game that most opposing teams DO NOT end up victorious. Two years ago, the Tide did beat the Tigers in Death Valley but there was no way they were doing that again.. or so they thought. The beast of a man, Leonard Fournette, was asked if LSU was going to beat Alabama, and he stated “fact”. They wanted to prove that they could beat this powerhouse of a football team. The two best defenses in the nation, this was going to be an intense game. After a nerve wracking scoreless three quarters, Jalen Hurts runs in a touchdown in the 4th quarter, followed by a field goal by Adam Griffith to shut out the Tigers (10-0).
With only three games left in the regular season, Alabama hopes to prove to the nation that they can be the best time and time again. The Tide has proven thus far that they are a mighty force to be reckoned with. We will see in the next three weeks, and throughout the post season, if that stays true.
