Clemson takes on the University of Oklahoma Monday evening in the Russell Athletic Bowl. The home of the Russell Athletic Bowl is the Florida Citrus Bowl, which happens to be the same spot that the Tigers and Sooners last met in 1989, when the Clemson upset Oklahoma 13-6. This is the 37th bowl appearance for Clemson, and the 75th anniversary of the Tigers’ first bowl game, a 6-3 victory over Boston College in the 1940 Cotton Bowl. The Tigers will have a special decal on the back of their helmets honoring that Cotton Bowl victory. The #17 ranked Tigers are a 3 point underdog to the Sooners, mostly due to the fact that Quarterback Deshaun Watson underwent surgery on a torn ACL and will miss the bowl game. Senior Quarterback Cole Stoudt will make his final start as a Clemson Tiger Monday. The Tigers bring in the #1 ranked defense, who they have relied on heavily on this season. Kickoff is at 5:30 and will be broadcasted on ESPN.
