    2023 Alice Coachman Invitational

    On April 8, 2023, the Albany State University track and field team sponsored the Alice Coachman Invitational. The yearly competition had 22 teams in total.
    Out of 11 female teams, the Golden Rams ladies placed second. With a final score of 111, Florida A&M took first place. They were followed by Albany State (76.5), Columbus State (75), Tuskegee (68.5), Fort Valley State (61), Brewton-Parker (26), Tallahassee CC (23), Tallahassee Zoom Track Club (20), Velocity TC (20), Voorhees (12), and Thomas (11). Out of 11 men’s teams, the Golden Rams men placed second. With 119 points, Columbus State took first place in the competition. They were followed by Albany State (92), Florida A&M (82), Morehouse (72), Thomas (60), Tuskegee (50), and Brewton-Parker (47).


    In the 800 meters, Kiyah Pittmon finished first in 2:24.79.
    With a timing of 5:21.92, Zamya Rhaney came in third place in the 1500 m.
    Nathalia Rowe finished first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.70.
    With a time of 49.22, the team of Dasia Gilyard, Shonkeria Jones, Kennedy Simmons, and Jeniya Lawrence took first place in the 4×100 Relay.
    With a distance of 44.44m, Sydney Blackburn triumphed in the discus.
    The javelin was won by Anaya Howell, who threw it 29.75 meters.
    Ed Gilbert won the 100 meters in 10.67 seconds. With a timing of 10.89, Shannon Carter came in third.
    Ed Gilbert won the 200 meters in 22.03 seconds.
    With a timing of 17:15.96, Sage Abdullah came in second place in the 5000 M.
    Jayvon Hutchinson won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.85 seconds.
    With a time of 55.70, Jordan Smith took the 400-meter hurdles.
    With a time of 42.39, the quartet of Demario Jackson, Ed Gilbert, Shannon Carter, and Kibren Moore took first place in the 4×100 Relay.
