In front of a sold out crowd with many tremendous names in attendance such as Chris Mullin and the family of St. John’s basketball legend Malik Sealy being inducted into the Hall of Fame, the atmosphere of Carnesecca Arena was undeniably warm and heartfelt as many were honored on the evening the seniors would play on their on-campus home floor before their many fans for their last time . As the St. John’s men’s basketball team gathered for their last roundup on campus against the Seton Hall Pirates, they definitely gave onlookers a game to remember. The home team earned themselves an 85-72 win over the Pirates being led by senior guard/forward, Sir’Dominic Pointer who tallied up a number of 22 points and 10 rebounds to obtain another double-double for the books. The energy was bittersweet as many looked at the senior class for the last time in St. John’s uniforms amongst the historic walls of Carnesecca Arena in the midst of their triumphant final moments.

The Red Storm switched home floors for their matchup against Xavier on Monday night at Madison Square Garden as St. John’s walked away with a one-point victory over the Musketeers in thrilling fashion as senior guard, D’Angelo Harrison led the way with a total of 20 points on an efficient 50% shooting night. With every win valuable at this point for the Johnnies down the stretch, the nail biter put them atop of Xavier in the Big East standings as they currently stand 8-7 in conference play and 19-9 overall in the season. With three significant matchups remaining, (one home, two away), the “One game at a time…” approach will hopefully land a solid case as to why the Red Storm should find themselves amongst others in the midst of March Madness.
