The Reinhardt University men’s golf team will travel to compete in the Coastal Georgia Tournament on September 16th. This will be their second tournament of the 2014 fall season.
On September 9, the team brought home 1st place in the SCAD Atlanta Invitational at The Oaks in Covington, Georgia with a big thanks to Jeff Pickens, who scored 1st overall in the whole tournament. Pickens contributed two-under-par 69’s and the team had a total score of 278 for the first round of play. Brandon Price also added to the Eagles success as he finished 3rd individually, and both Price and Pickens going four-under-par for the par-4 holes and two-under on the par 5’s. Also helping the team out was Evan Nichols who tied for fourth, Tanner Boyd that tied for 23rd, and Connor Edwards who came in 35th.
There was a good deal of Appalachian Athletic Conference schools at the SCAD Atlanta Invitational, one being Bryan who came in second for the tournament. However, the Eagles set their eyes on the prize, and defeated the other teams present.
The next stop for the men’s golf team is St. Simons Island Tuesday September 16th, where they will compete once again for a hopeful first place finish.
