The Fort Valley State Wildcats first home game was a letdown. The Wildcats didn’t lack any faith when it came to the Tuskegee Tigers, but time of possession would prove to be a factor. The Tigers, in this case, triumphed by 8 points over the Wildcats 21-13.
The Wildcats were a penalty ridden team and the Tigers took full advantage .Fort  Valley was penalized 17 times for 183 yards. While the offense struggled, the hard hitting Wildcats defense did what it could to keep the team in the game.
Coach Donald Pittman’s team won’t be to keen on watching Tuskegee game footage this week, but this just means staying focused on a solid week to preparation. Coach Pittman said,” We should have won”.The coach was not a man of many words after Saturday’s game.
For his effort Wildcats senituskegee vs ft valleyor linebacker LeRon Furr was tabbed as one of the SIAC’s players of the week. The preseason All-American recorded 15 tackles against the Tigers. Brother  DeRon Furr suggested, “They outplayed us, it showed on the scoreboard, but we‘ll meet them again this year “. Furr also had 3 tackles against the Tigers.Malcolm Eady  took over at quarterback in the second half and led the team to a touchdown, but the Wildcats could not keep the momentum.
The guys are preparing for this week’s game at  Kentucky State, then on to Washburn University in Kansas before returning  for the Homecoming game against Concordia -Selma College on October 26th. You don’t want to miss Homecoming with the Wildcats. It’s always a joyous occasion. Keep the Faith!  As the Wildcats hunt for more wins , hard work and consistency should work in their favor.
