The Georgia College Men’s Basketball team has just finished up quite a season. This team was composed mostly of freshman this year under Head Coach Mark Gainous. Coach Gainous has been so proud of this team and their abilities since day one.
“Of course there’s ways we can get better but it is a process and I’m so proud of this group of guys,” said Coach Gainous.
During Georgia College’s homecoming games, the Bobcats battled against the Clayton State Lakers but lost by four points. The game was neck-and-neck until the last few seconds when the Lakers put up some last-minute points making enough of a gap that the Bobcats could not return.
The team finished their season with a 15-13 record but as aforementioned, this team is a team of freshman and can only go up from here.
Sophomore Guard, Chaz Berry stated, “Defensively, this team has really done well and since we are so young we can continue to build on our strengths and identify those weaknesses.”
This Georgia College team may be done for this season but will soon begin practicing for the next.
