The Georgia State football program is trying to establish itself amongst the other college football programs with its fifth season under away. Although they had a rough season last year they are looking forward to getting better and better with each game they play. This week is a pretty big game for Georgia State head coach Trent Miles as he tries to bring in a victory at the Georgia Dome.
This Saturday October 11, 2014 Georgia State takes on Arkansas State at home. This game is not just any game for the Panthers; but, a game where alumni and major supporters always reunite to attend, homecoming! That is right, it is homecoming week here at Georgia State and the students are ready for the weekend! If students do not go to any game of the year, this is the game that all love to come to. Homecoming is the week that a university comes together and acts as one. Students of all types gather up to come support the team. This is a game at the beginning of the year every athlete wants to win the most. Of course they want to win every game, but homecoming is like a celebration. Imagine how it would be to lose the game during homecoming week, not so good.
Starting quarterback Nick Arbuckle has the team on his back and is looking for a victory this weekend. With a win on Saturday Georgia State will secure its first conference win of the year and will improve its record to 2-4. The season has been shaky, but they look to learn something new everyday they step out on the field.
They are hungry, they can taste victory, and most importantly they want to make the city of Atlanta and Georgia State proud!
