
ROME, Ga. – After a shaky beginning season, the Lady Hawks are proving that it’s not over until the fat lady sings. On Tuesday evening on their home court, the Lady Hawks (16-9) took on the Lady Lions (29-3) for the second and last time during the regular season. Bryan College beat Shorter in their first match up. However, with a four-win streak momentum, the Lady Hawks set things straight, winning 3-1 and extending their win streak to five.
In the first set, Shorter outplayed Bryan 25-15. The second set proved to be a little tougher, but Shorter won 25-23. Feeling the pressure, Bryan pushed back to win the third set, 25-21. In the last set, Shorter closed the match, 25-18.
Offensively, junior Jasmine Crook and freshman Elizabeth Dowd contributed 11 kills each. Freshman Cheyenne Frady led the team with 22 assists. Defensively, senior Tanequa Whitman recorded a match high of 27 digs. For more in-depth stats, click here.
This Friday, November 8th, the Lady Hawks will attempt to extend their current win streak to six at home as they face the Lady Pirates of Christian Brothers University at 7 pm (EST).
