MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Mel McLean notched a game-leading 21 points on Friday night as the Vikings (9-7) defeated conference rival, Sewanee (7-9), 66-58 to win their second straight game.
Against the number two defense in the SAA, the Vikings shot 44 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range in the first half. The second half displayed the Vikings’ stout defense as they forced 11 turnovers resulting in a game-total 21 points off turnovers; the Vikings only gave the ball away four times during the entire game.
The Vikings’ next game is home against Centre College on Sunday, Jan. 26.
