Last weekend after traveling to San Diego and suffering its first loss of the season, the Mercer Bears returns home to face Valparaiso Saturday October 12, 2013 at noon for another Pioneer Football League contest. In a very impressive victory Mercer’s very own John Russ had 292 total yards, ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Mercer over Valparaiso 35-21 on Saturday. Mercer entered the game ranked near the top of the FCS in both rushing offense and defense. The Bears then proceeded to dominate Valparaiso on the ground, outgaining them 286-44. Tomorrow the Mercer Bears will face Carnegie Mellon at home with a kick off time set for 1:00 pm. Hopefully the bears will be able to achieve another impressive victory. Let’s go Bears !
