Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell will miss the 2013 season with a torn ACL. Coach Mark Richt told the media on Sunday that Mitchell’s MRI confirmed the injury, and he will undergo surgery. The junior wide receiver injured his knee when celebrating Todd Gurley’s 75 yard touchdown run. Mitchell jumped into the air for a chest bump with Gurley and Chris Conley and landed awkwardly. Mitchell will most likely be eligible for a medical redshirt which would give him two more years of eligibility.
