Georgia State will enter the upcoming Sun Belt Conference tournament as the No. 6 seed and face No. 7 seed Texas State on Thursday night at 8:15 p.m. ET at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.

The Panthers will face the Bobcats live on ESPN3. Fans can also listen to the game on 1340 The Fan 3, the flagship station for Georgia State athletics.

Georgia State (16-13, 9-11 Sun Belt) won the conference regular season title in each of the last two years, earning a double-bye and reaching the tournament final both times. This year, the Panthers will have to win four games in four days to repeat as tournament champions.

Texas State (14-15, 8-12 Sun Belt) swept a series with Troy and South Alabama over the last three days to qualify for the tournament. Georgia State swept the season series with the Bobcats, earning a 58-46 win in San Marcos on Jan. 2, before scoring a 59-56 win in Atlanta on Feb. 4.

With a win on Thursday, Georgia State would play the No. 3 seed on Friday night in the quarterfinals, also at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN3.

The Panthers are a program on the rise and should be a team many experts will keep an eye on over the next several years.
