Coach Andy Kaplan is in his 12th year as the head coach of the Reinhardt Lady Eagles soccer team. After leading the Lady Eagles to an NAIA national tournament appearance in 2013, Kaplan once again has his team off to a hot start. The team recently picked up its first conference win of the season against Bryan College, which places them in a three-way tie for second in the Appalachian Athletic Conference standings. On the season, the Lady Eagles boast an undefeated record of 4-0.

Recently, the Lady Eagles defeated the Lions of Bryan College, opening conference play with a 4-0 victory. Four different players scored for Reinhardt, with the first goal coming in the 63rd minute of the game. Sophomore Katie Hale scored the opening goal on an assist from junior Kristen Clegg. Four minutes later Clegg scored a goal of her own while Madison Easterwood recorded the third goal for the Lady Eagles in the 76th minute. Finally, sophomore Lindsey White found the back of the net in the 80th minute as Clegg added another assist to her stats. Bryan only managed two shots in the contest and sophomore goal keeper Taylor Asher made one save for Reinhardt.

The Eagles, led by Kristen Clegg, and sophomore Allie Hale, look to remain perfect as they play two consecutive road games. First, they will travel to Middle Georgia State College in Cochran, Georgia. The Knights enter the match against Reinhardt with a record of 0-4-1. They are under the direction of head coach Vinny Gill who coaches both the men’s and women’s soccer squads. On the field, forwards Sam Silva and Abbie Darnell, a freshman and sophomore respectively, lead the Knights of Middle Georgia State. After the contest against Middle Georgia State, Reinhardt will travel to face NAIA Division 1 opponent Brenau University. Brenau currently has a record of 2-1-1 and is ranked 17th in the NAIA D1 poll. They are led by senior forward Kayla Madsen who has started all four contests, tallying two goals and an assist.

Kickoff between the Reinhardt Lady Eagles and the Middle Georgia State Knights is set for 2 PM EST in Cochran, Georgia on Saturday, September 13, while the contest against Brenau is set to kickoff at 7 PM from Gainesville, Georgia on Tuesday, September 16.
