Southern Miss will host the 2014 Conference USA Volleyball tournament starting Friday afternoon at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The tournament will feature the top eight teams who finished with the best record during the regular season.
Like last year, the University of Texas-San Antonio will enter the tournament as the top seed, facing off against eighth-seeded Charlotte at noon on Friday.
Thanks to a tiebreaker, Western Kentucky shared the regular season title with UTSA to earn the second seed in the tournament. WKU will play seventh-seeded Florida Atlantic in round one of tournament action Friday at 5 p.m.
Third-seeded North Texas will square off against the Golden Eagles, who lost its final two regular season games to UTSA and Charlotte, dropping them to sixth seed for the tournament. The two teams will play at 7 p.m.
Fourth-seeded Rice will take on fifth-seeded Marshall, a team who defeated Rice in one of its final games of the season. The two teams will square off at 2 p.m.
The quarterfinals and semifinals will be televised on the C-USA Digital Network and the championship game on Sunday will be shown on FOX Sports Network at 12:30 p.m.
