Since the last update, the Reinhardt Men’s soccer team won five wins with only one loss. This record includes a forfeit win over Talladega College.
On October 7th, the Eagles trailed the Bears of Truett-McConnell College 1-0 for sixty minutes of the contest. In the 63rd minute, Alan Barikos rebounded a blocked shot and passed the ball to teammate Jordan Williams who then scored to tie the game. Six minutes later, Jose Rubio was able to place the ball just out of the reach of the Bear’s goalkeeper with the go-ahead score. With the score 2-1, Reinhardt was able to come away with the win. Coach Johnson stated, “It was a great team effort from our guys. Many of them contributed to the team when we needed it most. I am proud of the character and integrity that our young men displayed today.”
On October 10th, the Eagles took on the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan. The Eagles allowed a goal in the final minute of the first half to send the game into intermission tied to 1-1 .The Eagles started slow against TWC, however they were able bounce back and win the game 2-1. Palmisano and Matthew Gray found the back of the net on the day for RU.
On October 17th, the Eagles battled the #11 Bulldogs of Union College. Jordan Williams scored a goal inside the top of the box in the 37th minute of play. At halftime, the Eagles were leading 1-0. In the second half, however, Union was able to even the score within seven minutes. The game was decided in double overtime where Reinhardt committed a foul inside the penalty box leading to a penalty kick. Even in the loss, Reinhardt’s Torge Wiedenroth had an outstanding game with eight vital saves.
On October 25th, the Eagles defeated the Cavaliers of Montreat College 4-0. Four different players were able to score goals: Christian Ruiz, Jose Rubio, Dodge Palmisan, and Jordan Williams. Johnson stated, “The team improved steadily as the game progressed. I appreciate the efforts of the players.”

On October 28th, the Eagles dominated the Buffaloes of Milligan College 9-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. Jose Rubio scored four goals and Matthew Grey added a hat trick. Coach Johnson stated, “I am pleased that we are becoming more consistent with what we do. In order to give us a opportunity to be successful, we must understand the importance of each conference game. We must be very competitive and achieve our team goals. I am pleased with the team’s work rate.” The Eagles will be back in action at home this Saturday the 31st against the Knights of St. Andrews University. Kick off time is set for 3:00 PM at Ken White Field in Waleska, Ga.
