The 2016 Pirate Football schedule has recently been released. As a Pirate fan, football season can not get here soon enough, and with the new head coach and staff changes, there is great anticipation for how next season will go . Even though we lost a few valuable players this season, we still have a strong team and can only hope for the best. As a bias Pirate fan these were my thoughts as I looked at the schedule.
Sept 3- Western Carolina (Sorry, Eastern North Carolina aka Greenville is where it’s at)
Sept 10- NC STATE (This is our state btw…. Pirates > Wolfpack)
Sept 17- at South Carolina (We may have met 2 seasons ago and brought home and L but what is the saying again? First is the worst, second is the best…this second time around we will be bringing home a W)
Sept 24- at Virginia Tech (Third time is not the charm for the hokies, we will continue to serve y’all a loss)
Oct 1- UCF (What can I say…Maybe the Pirates will be feeling generous enough to allow more than one touchdown?….Just kidding, sorry not sorry)
Oct 8- USF (Just know we are coming to grab the bull by the horns if ya know what I mean)
Oct 13- Navy (With all due respect, the No Quarter flag will reign on)
Oct 22- at Cincinnati (Last year the scoreboard got flipped, this season it will be East Carolina with the win 19-16, not the other way around)
Oct 29- Connecticut (31,13 huh? Owch, hope they have enough blankets for y’all to stay warm up there when we send y’all home with another L)
Nov 5- at Tulsa (We won)
Nov 12- SMU (“Home is where the heart is” but even as a Texas native I have to go with my Pirates on this one as I bleed purple and gold)
Nov 26- at Temple (We are back and better an we won’t let it happen again)
Dec 3- AAC Championship Game (Look forward to seeing the Pirates there this season!!)
