Georgia State University’s head coach Alex Leatu announced the Spring 2019 schedule for women’s tennis.
The Panthers will play 24 matches over 20 dates spanning from late January to middle April. GSU will play nine home matches this season spread across six separate dates.
Georgia State will open the season in Fort Myers, Florida for two matches on January 18th and 19th with Florida Gulf Coast and Cornell. From there, GSU travels up to Greenville, South Carolina for a Martin Luther King Day match with the Furman Paladins on January 21st.
The February slate opens up with trips to Jacksonville and Tuscaloosa to take on North Florida and Alabama on the first two Fridays of the month. GSU will be back in Atlanta for a February 15 tilt at Georgia Tech before heading back to the Yellowhammer State to face Auburn and Samford on February 17th. The Panthers will round out the month in Orlando for matches against Central Florida and Denver.
March will see GSU host six home matches, including a home opener doubleheader March 3rd against UT Martin and Georgia Southern. The Panthers will take their only road trip of the month to face Louisiana and ULM on March 16-17, before a home doubleheader on March 23rd with Arkansas State and UAB. Leatu’s sqaud will finish the month at home with matches against Texas State and UT Arlington March 30-31.
The Panthers open April with a three-day trip in the Carolinas with matches against Coastal Carolina, Winthrop, and Appalachian State. GSU will finish off the regular season April 13-14 at home taking on Troy and South Alabama. The 2018 Sun Belt Champions will look to defend their title at the conference tournament April 18-21 in Peachtree City. The Panthers are going to have a nice traveling trip.
