Eagles pull off the upset against Life University

#16 Eagles upset #7 Life University 26-18

The Eagles started the match on fire winning the first 4 matches. Starting off with the 125-weight class, Koby Milner led the charge for Reinhardt defeating Stephen Moreno for a minor decision win. Moving on to 133, Ethan Gustilo was able to beat #19 Lucas Patterson in an exciting match. Lucas kept widening the gap between them, but Ethan was able to make a comeback by putting Lucas on his back and was able to get a 6-point swing in only 10 seconds, guaranteeing Ethan the win. Up next was the 141-weight class, where Curtis Doctor completely dominated Mason Calvert, who was #3 in the nation, winning by major decision. The 149 match was quick as Jody McAlister pinned Nolan Saxton in 1:03. Life University tried to make a comeback by winning the next 3 matches straight, but Antonio Stewart and Jacob Henderson were able to seal the deal for Reinhardt to pull off the upset against the #7 School in the nation.

Who’s Next

The Eagles wrestle Truett-McConnell University on December 12th for their AAC road opener. The Bears are led by Ian James, who is currently undefeated. His standout win so far was against Belmont Abbey College, where he had Truett-McConnell’s only win against Matthew Sloan.

Prediction

The Eagles will completely shutout Truett-McConnell University 48-0

Fun Fact

Their only home loss last year was against Life University, getting sweet revenge this year
