The Georgia State women’s golf team will continue the 2019-20 season on Friday with one of its toughest challenges of the year at the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
The Panthers are coming off a ninth-place finish at the USA Intercollegiate last week as Emma Berlin and Maria Blasco both finished among the top 20.
This will mark the fourth-straight year attending the event up I-85 and the fifth time in the last six years for head coach Jessica Steward’s squad.
“We’re all excited to tackle this tough golf course and incredibly strong tournament field,” Steward said. “This could be an opportunity for these young ladies to prove to themselves, and to the community, that we can compete alongside some of the best programs in the nation.
Georgia State will go into the second event of the year with the same line-up as in the first. Senior Harmanprit Kaur will lead a line-up that includes junior Chloe Howard, sophomores Emma Berlin and Maria Blasco, along with freshman Jenny Marston.
The 16-team field will include Coastal Carolina, Daytona State, host Furman, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, James Madison, Kansas, North Florida, Old Dominion, Richmond, South Florida, Southern Miss, Toledo, Tulsa, UNC Wilmington, and Wake Forest.
The field will utilize tee times Friday and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. ET off Holes No. 1 and No. 10. The teams will use a shotgun start for the final round on Sunday also beginning at 9 a.m. Georgia State will be paired with James Madison and individuals beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Friday off Hole No. 10.

Following this week’s tournament, Georgia State will return to the course Oct. 20-22, for the FIU Pat Bradley Classic in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
