A strong field of Champions Tour professionals will be competing in the Metro Atlanta area at next week’s Greater Gwinnett Championship. 28 of the 30 top earners from the 2013 Money List have committed to play in the field of 81 golfers that features seven World Golf Hall of Fame winners including defending Champion Bernhard Langer. Players had until Friday at 5:00 p.m. to commit to participate in the event.

“We are thrilled to have another strong field at year’s championship,” said Executive Director Stan Hall. “To be able to showcase professional golf to the Gwinnett and Atlanta communities, coming off the heels of The Masters, will create great buzz and help us make a positive impact on our charities.”
The Greater Gwinnett Championship will feature seven participants who are playing in this week’s Masters Tournament in Augusta, highlighted by fan favorite and former Masters Champion Fred Couples. The other Masters participants who will be playing are Bernhard Langer, Mark O’Meara, Larry Mize, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Sandy Lyle and Ben Crenshaw.
The 2nd annual Greater Gwinnett Championship Presented by Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating, an Official Event on the PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour, begins on Monday at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, GA. Champions Tour professionals will be competing for a purse of $1.8 million and a first place check of $270,000. Other legends of the game teeing it up will be 2013 Charles Schwab Cup champion Kenny Perry, Hale Irwin, Nick Price, Colin Montgomerie, and Tom Lehman.
